CDplusA was commissioned by Kuehne + Nagel to design and build its Singapore Logistic Hub (SLH) offices located at 10 Pioneer Crescent, Singapore.

Inspired by Kuehne + Nagel’s road logistic business and the general experience of covering long distances, a concept called “Next Exit” was developed to convert a traditional office with rooms and cubicles to a modern open-plan workplace. With this road narrative, the office space was conceptualized to have a main “thoroughfare” (blue carpet) visually connecting different elements of the open plan. Every turn, destination or “Next Exit” features a specific and interesting design element such as a big glass meeting room, open collaboration corner, an artificial tree, and shared facilities like coffee points and IT Service Corner. Height-adjustable desks and communal tables replaced the traditional cubicles and add interest to this new open plan concept.

The new office also features an experience centre with an LED wall; as well as a vibrant central breakout lounge with a variety of seating types and an open-slab ceiling design highlighting acoustic baffles in the form of wooden pallets; reminding the staff of the company’s core logistic business.

Overall, the completed project was a success as it provided the staff with a more refreshing and modern office with identity and one that encourages productivity wellness, and collaboration.
